3 days: Brussels

6 days, add: Antwerp, consider day trip to Rotterdam

Language: Belgium is surrounded on three sides by the Netherlands, France and Germany, making Dutch, French and German all very important languages that are nearly equally used. English is widely spoken, and English-speakers shouldn't have any problems getting around.

Crime & Safety: Belgium has traditionally been a very safe city, and largely remains so in spite of recent terrorist activity in Brussels and other scattered areas.
