Croatia is the next "big" thing in travel. Zagreb, the beautiful capital city of Croatia, amassed a 30% increase in tourists year-over-year in 2016, and the popularity given to Dubrovnik via its involvement in Game of Thrones (Dubrovnik is the actual location attributed to King's Landing in the show) has fans of the show flocking to this beautiful coastal area. Cities like Split fly under the radar, but are no less impressive.

To see Croatia, given the length, shape, and the countries she borders, it's wisest to start at the South and work your way north. Dubrovnik, the popular location for the scenes of King's Landing from Game of Thrones, is the place to be.
From there, wind your way north, utilizing opportunities for day trips in Boznia and Herzegovina, Slovenia, and northeastern Italy.
Depending on the length of your trip, and taking geographic proximity into account, here are our recommended priorities.
3 days: Dubrovnik
6 days, add: Mostar (Bosnia and Herzegovina), Split
8 days, add: Korčula or Hvar
10 days, add: Sibenik
12 days, add: Zadar
15 days, add: Karvolac and Zagreb
18 days, add: Lake Bled and the Julian Alps
More: add: Llujjana (Slovenia) or Trieste (Italy)
Currency: Euro (EUR). EUR is currently 0.93 for 1 USD. Like most countries on EUR, debit and credit cards will be easy to use if you call your institution ahead of time.
Power Adapter: In Croatia the power sockets are of type C and F. The standard voltage is 230 V and the standard frequency is 50 Hz.
Crime & Safety: With less than 1% of the crime in the U.S., less than one-half a percent of the violent crime, and nearly twice the police officers, no one is running away with your wallet in Croatia. It's a beautiful country that is incredibly safe.
Emergency Number: 112

Perhaps the most popular brunch dish in the U.S., it’s actually quite basic. Eggs Benedict is poached egg, ham, english muffin, and hollandaise at its core – but it’s so much more.
