We’re Justin and Tracy — two people who met in Nashville in 2007 and have spent the better part of two decades figuring out the world together, one trip at a time.
The notes we kept for ourselves turned out to be useful to other people.
After our first few trips together, we started doing what most travelers do: keeping mental notes, making recommendations to friends, bookmarking the restaurants we’d return to and the neighborhoods that actually delivered. At some point the obvious question came up — why not write it down properly?
A Couple for the Road launched in 2016. What began as a catalogue of places we loved has grown into something we hope is genuinely useful for people planning real trips. We’re based in Florida, which puts us close to a lot of the Caribbean and Latin American destinations we cover — but our reach goes considerably further. We’ve spent time in Europe, Asia, the Middle East, and across North and South America, and we write about all of it with the same approach: honest, specific, and grounded in firsthand experience.
The things that make a destination worth understanding, not just visiting.
Our interests lean toward the lenses that reveal a place rather than simply describe it — architecture, food, history, museums, culture, and the landscape that shapes how a city feels. We’re not chasing novelty for its own sake. We’re trying to answer the questions that actually matter when you’re planning a trip.
- Europe — Italy, France, Spain, the United Kingdom, Germany, the Netherlands, and beyond
- Asia — Japan, Vietnam, and continuing to expand
- The Americas — Mexico, the Caribbean, South America, and across the United States
- Oceania — Australia and New Zealand
- Africa & the Middle East — Egypt and growing
Travelers who want to plan well.
We write for people who are serious about making the most of their time and money — who want to know which neighborhood to stay in and why, which dishes to seek out, which museum is worth two hours and which one you can skip. We’re particularly focused on making that information accessible to travelers visiting a destination for the first time who want a clear, honest foundation to build their trip on.
If you’re the kind of traveler who researches before you go, reads about the place you’re visiting, and wants recommendations that come from real experience rather than a press trip — this site is for you.
Start at the country level. Build from there.
Every country we cover has a destination page that links to all of our city-level content. Each city has three guides — they’re designed to work together, cross-referencing each other so you’re always building a complete picture rather than reading individual pieces in isolation.
We love hearing from readers.
Questions about specific destinations, suggestions for what to cover next, feedback on what’s been useful — all of it welcome. For partnership and collaboration inquiries, use the same address.
