5 Top Places to Visit in Bali

Bali, one of the most paradisical islands in Indonesia, is filled with amazing attractions. From powerful waterfalls to beautiful rice terraces to white-sand beaches, there are so many places to visit in Bali. Any visitors going to Bali should fully equip themselves with a Bali itinerary to take advantage of all jaw-dropping attractions there. Below are our 5 favorite places to visit in Bali that will sweep you off your feet!

1. Nusa Penida

A small island located about 45 mins off the coast of Bali, a visit to Nusa Penida is a must for anyone that loves breath-taking beaches and dramatic cliffs. Unlike Bali, Nusa Penida has not yet been overrun by tourists yet, receiving only a fraction of the tourism Bali gets. The island is under a tremendous modernization, as bars, restaurants, and hotels are spawning everywhere. However, infrastructure is still lagging at the time of writing, so deciding where to stay in Nusa Penida is crucial to having a good experience. Make sure you visit my all-time favorite, Kelingking Beach when you are in Nusa Penida!

2. Nungnung Waterfall

Nungnung Waterfall is one of the tallest waterfalls in Bali and surprisingly, not a lot of people know about it (until now). Located in Badung Regency, the best way to get to Nungnung Waterfall is by a scooter or a rented car from Ubud. Located 75 minutes from Ubud, this hidden gem is worth the long journey there. Once you arrive there, pay the cheap entrance fee of 10k IDR and start your short hike to the bottom of the waterfall. A path of 500 steps, the hike to Nungung Waterfall is not for everyone, especially on the way up. However, if you like venturing into the jungle to find a hidden waterfall surrounded by nothing but lushness, the Nungnung waterfall is for you.

3. La Brisa

Bali is the home to some of the most extravagant beach clubs and La Brisa is one of those. Located on the famous Echo Beach in the popular Canggu, La Brisa is the ultimate chill-out spot. Its eco-friendly decor and its beautiful swimming pool make it one of the perfect spots in Bali to watch the sunset with a chilled Mojito in your hands.

4. Tegalalang Rice Terrace

If there is one thing Bali is famous for (other than beaches and waterfalls), it must be for the beautiful rice terraces. There are numerous serene rice paddies throughout the entire city and you will probably stumble upon many on your trip to Bali. However, the most famous rice terrace is the Tegalang Rice Terrace located next to Ubud. An incredibly scenic attraction in Bali, visitors can come here and tour around the fields. If you are lucky, you might spot a few farmers working on the as well! Tegalalang also has zip-ling and a famous swing!

5. Lempuyang Temple

Lempuyang Temple is one of the most Instagram-worthy spots in Bali. Chances are, you already recognize this place from all the photos you have seen on the internet. A Balinese Hindu temple located in Karangasem, visitors can come here and take a lot of the incredible structures or the temple as well as take a picture at the “Gates of Heaven”. You will surely wow your friends back home with a beautiful Balinese Temple in the front and the famous Mount Agung in the back!
